SAWH promotes the UNESCO World Heritage framework as a solid theoretical basis to foster debate and creative exchange, by virtue of its international, cross-disciplinary and scientifically-rigorous nature. SAWH is independent of UNESCO, but has involved UNESCO and ICOMOS in events.
